Hey everyone - talked to Merl this morning about this and I am trying to find a quality Rep team for my event.  I'll come up with one.

The Garden City event is going to be even better this year than in the past - we have some great sponsors and backers - more money and public activities and involvement - and, you don't have to cross any mountains to get here    Grin

Watch for info next week.

Telluride or Garden City? They both sound appealing to me.
The drive to Telluride is bound to be a colorful one during that time of the year, though, the seven hour drive through the mountains and the cool weather are a drawback. It still sounds like a fun place to have a contest.
Seeing Merl and Carol Whitebook would be a plus, too.
Garden City, on the other hand, has warmer weather and only a five hour drive over flat terrain and who wouldn't like seeing Robert, Schuyler, Nici and Grandma Silverina again?
It's a tough decision. I'll have to wait and see.
I've included the weather stats for for both cities if anyone's interested.

Teams the app is up at www.arliequeevents.com. If you have questions please contact me at arlieque@comcast.net

It also needs to be added to the JLP for the judges.

Thanks you

Have you paid to be a RMBBQA Cup Event?  If not, there is no JLP involved.

We don't look for competitions wanting to be RMBBQA Cup Events.  The standard protocol is that organizers contact us, provide the required documentation, and that is presented to the BOD of RMBBQA.  Then a decision is made.  The organizer then has to pay the required fee/ or make arrangements for such, prior to the RMBBQA BOD stating that an event has the privileges of a RMBBQA Cup Event.  That includes the free use of the JLP.

If you have further questions, you can contact me or any of the BOD members listed on our home page of the website.  RMBBQA.org.
This is RMBBQA BOD policy.

Hi Arlie,  I'm sorry for the confusion.  RMBBQA does not contact organizers of new events and we don't recruit contests to join the cup. However, part of the confusion may arise from the fact that you do get a letter from us to renew your Grand Junction contest as a cup event. I can see where that may have led you to believe that we would contact you concerning Telluride.

We now have cup application forms online. At our home page on the right side, click "what we do".  On the top of the opening page you will see "more information and application" click that and scroll down to the bottom of the information page and you will find the application. You may fill out that and submit it on line.  We have tried to make it easier for events to contact us and get information on the cup and provide an easy application form.  We do have to process all requests for new events because we have some rules concerning events on the same weekend.  I hope this helps.  Doug Piersel...President RMBBQA

Why don't we? The mission says to help promote bbq cooking and contests? This seems natural. The more comps we support the more exposure the more members.
