How many do you plan to do in 2010?
I'm looking at 24 total.

Steve,

With 24 comps on the horizon, you're getting up there - or is it out there - with the big boys again. Buenos Suerte. Maybe you'll be the next BBQ Pitmaster Star. You'd be great for it! And you've got the way cool team name to boot!

Have fun and safe travels.

would love to do all of the Colorado ones, but we think we will be limited to the same ones we did last year. we do plan on adding Rio Rancho this year though. so that puts us at four. two in New Mexico and two in Colorado.

Preppin' sauce to cover 16, tho I think that's a little ambitious.  I'm tired just thinkin' of two more than we did this year Smiley

We'll be doing 8-10 probably.  Probably 6 or so in CO, and a couple out in MN, KS, and IA.  Skipping Rio Rancho to attend a class...so probably won't see ya'll until May.  I think our first one will probably be either North Platte, NE or Lyons, KS.

I hope to do 4 or so comps this summer. We had fun in GJ last summer and learned alot. I might be looking to buy a different smoker soon and was wondering what you fine folks use, like etc... I need something that is good for comps, as well as, the restaurant on occasion and some catering.
Any thoughts??

Well Id say WSM or WSM's..... If your lookin for champaign cooks on a beer budget!

I love my WSM's . Theres not a whole lot of temp fluxuation and are able to produce some award winning foods. $.02

I agree with DB.  If I wasn't looking at getting into catering, and purely doing comps, I'd supplement my arsenal with a couple of 22.5" WSMs.  Still might do that just for some backyard fun    Cool

Or Grady... if you're interested in having some fun building your own, here's a great recap of how to build a UDS...

Thanks everyone. Some great ideas and thanks for the great sites Kev. Saved them to my favorites so I can take a closer look.
